Today marks the 68th anniversary of the “Leyte Landing” of General Douglas McArthur and his forces in Palo, Leyte Island on October 20, 1944.
The anniversary of this event is commemorated annually at the park with a reenactment of the famous landing, attended by local and foreign dignitaries.
There were tons of these vehicles there. I dunno what they’re called but they looked so cool! Later on, there will be more people flocking in. The main event will probably be during night time.
As always. I even heard rumors about a beautiful display of fireworks. Sadly, I won’t be able to watch any of the events today. But I would still want to celebrate it by writing about it. If I’m lucky, I might get a little glimpse of the fireworks later from here at home.
Happy 68th Leyte Landing Anniversary!
